In Art and History this week, Class Two have been learning about Roman Busts.
The children have had a go at studying their faces using mirrors to identify the key features of their face. We used shading, sketching and use of line to create facial features.
Then it came to making our Roman busts out of clay. The children could choose to make themselves or an ancestor. We learnt all about the Roman bust including that Romans would ask their carver to portray them as fierce and would even include scars or any imperfections they may have to warn off their oppositions.
