Early Years

Children are assessed at the start and end of reception. The results of the assessment at the start of reception are not shared with schools or parents but go directly to the DFE. The end of year assessment is called the ‘Early Years Statutory Profile’ and outcomes are shared with parents. Children are assessed against the Early Learning Goals which are:

  • Communication and language
  • Personal Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design
