Find out more about each LAB member below.

    Pete Banford:

I am the Chair of the Local Academy Board at St George’s school Clun. I work for Shropshire council managing the authority’s libraries, leisure centres, outdoor parks and heritage sites, the public rights of way network and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. I am motivated by a high-quality education for all and a school culture that develops individuals to use their education in an appropriate way as they move through life. I have four children who have all attended St George’s school, my youngest is currently in class 3.

    Chrissie Verduyn:

I have been a Foundation Governor/LAB member at St George’s since September 2016. My professional background is in clinical psychology and I worked in Manchester Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) until I retired. I am an active member of the community in Clun. We are neighbours of the school and enjoy our association with St George’s. I am currently Vice Chair and lead governor for Special Needs.

    Wayne Davies:

I have lived in Clun all my life and attended Clun School as a child.  I currently have two children in Class 2 and a third waiting in the wings to join the nursey next year.  Both children have gained so much from their education at Clun, and we have seen their knowledge and confidence grow hugely over the last few years.  I have agreed to be a governor to try and give something back to the school which has benefited myself and my family a great deal.  I feel that it’s very important that the school maintains its strong links with the wider community to help give children a sense of belonging and give them an understanding of their local area.  I am the link for Writing.
